Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I know," Pande said. "It's the only reason Bedlam and I are going along with it, to be honest. I'm not sure what innocence is left in Hex. For Wisp, there is still hope. She has a child's heart. But if we can show Hex that there is some good out there in the world, even for monsters like us, then I will be happy."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"You're not monsters. Why do you think that?" Wolf asked, blinking in surprise he just didn't see that in them. He saw a wayward group of fiends who hadn't felt love.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Because that is how everyone sees us," Pande said. "I know it's not true. But it is how she sees herself as well. I do not think even you can make that go away. Lucky for us, we have a lot of time."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I've for forever. I think between myself and the others she will see." Wolf said, she could deny it from one, maybe two but not a whole group of people. "I can't have kids." He said, as he looked towards the girls. "I didn't think I wanted them, because of how the world is. Because of how I live my life."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Pande considered Wolf for a moment. "Do you want to adopt them?" he asked, laughing. "A wolf taking in a fox and a cat. That's actually pretty funny." He found humor in most things though. "I take is your partner is responsible for you no longer being human. What would they make of the girls?"
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Maybe." Wolf said he was a big softy. He had a huge heart with a lot of love to give. So maybe. Definitely maybe. "I think he'd love them, he's a psychic fiend. He'd be very good at reading them and helping them through things. He'd be a great dad."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Pande laughed again. "Psychics can't read dark creatures. Perhaps yours is special though." He did not know who it was to be able to say. "Ah, I guess it matters not if you can't convince the girls of this. None of us really have any experience with parents. Perhaps Bedlam, but he never speaks of them. I met mine only briefly."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"You're so old I'd feel weird adopting you, but I would. If I can convince them to let be their master, would you want to join us? Be a part of the big old famalam? Too old to be my son, but I never had a brother." Wolf shrugged. He didn't know what it was about this group, but he couldn't ignore them.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Pande laughed again. "Only Wisp is younger than me." He didn't look it though. He looked like the oldest of the group. He was actually the second youngest. But that was the fun with evolution. "I do not know how it would feel to have a brother either. You accept us awfully quickly. But I suppose you had some sort of plan in mind when you sought us out..."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I'm so bad at working out fiends ages, but you said you've been around since before I was born so..." Wolf wanted to give up, Pande was so mature. The girls weren't. His head was fucked. "I just wanted to hear you out. Your point of view, to try and get all the hatred to stop."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"The problem here is that we like mischief," Pande said. "We enjoy our way of life. And we're well aware that hunters like yourself are not big fans of us and our work. I do not think that we can ever be traditional tamed companions. It's not something we want anymore. And while you offering us friendship is nice, it's quite different from offering us a permanent home. Wanderlust is a thing that is strong with us. The desire to travel and see the world. To explore different cultures in both fiend community and human. We could never stay in one place for that long."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I'm curious, how have you not visited everywhere already?" Wolf said, as old as they were they had likely travelled the world twice over with all the time they'd had. What was left to see? "I wouldn't keep you in one spot. I'd just want you to come home sometimes."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"It hasn't always been safe, to go where we go at any one given time," Pande explained. "And traveling with little ones complicates things. They get tired faster than we do. Some places aren't safe for them. Or they catch an illness and we have to stay in one place until they recover."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Ah, makes sense. They don't seem as small as they are. It's an act I guess." Wolf said, but he got out his phone and sent texts to say that he was okay, safe. They weren't hurting him. "Should I ask Aya to come visit?"
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Pande thought on that. It would be quite the distraction for him. And he wasn't sure how the girls would take having a grown up woman around. "I suppose it couldn't hurt," he conceded.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Don't be insulted by this request, but I'd like for you to be respectful of my friends feelings for her." Wolf said, because if she went home pregnant then it'd be his fault and drama would ensue. "He does feed her well. He'd probably let you join too." If Pande was into that. He text and asked jes if aya wanted to meet a succumbra.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I can't imagine I'd be opposed. She's very lucky. I will respect his wishes and not touch her," Pande said. He did not feed nearly as often as he needed to. Taking care of the girls took precedent. And if they were in the wilds for a while then it was impossible to feed.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Be a boy for me and let's see if we can get you fed." Wolf said, he'd take pictures and send to Jes. If both him and Aya were okay with it, then he'd be fed by them. If not they'd find someone for him.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Pande looked surprised. He wasn't starving. Bedlam helped when he started to get too weak. Just wasn't for doing it regularly because then he'd be too weak to protect them all.
"Okay..." He said and his demonic features vanished.

Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"Oh nice," Wolf said approvingly as he took a picture of Pande's face. "Show me your butt. That is important too." He laughed.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Pande laughed and was glad the girls were still sleeping as he posed for the picture.
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
Wolf took them and then sent them to Jes. It took very little time for a response. "Oh you're in for it now. Jes likes you, Aya is coming now. She will hang out with us for the day, then she'll take you back to Jes. They're in the town, just over. They didnt want to leave me with you guys, in case you murdered me."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"They're smart to stay close," Pande said. "But I don't think you need to worry about that. Hex is the only one that's truly murderous and if she didn't try to kill you last night then she likely won't."
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"That's good." Wolf said, he was really glad for that. He asked if aya could bring him coffee and a clean shirt. "So you think I've got a chance at convincing her?"
Re: The Wolf and the Cat
"I think so. If you do what I said before. She wants to be loved even if she resists. I'm not sure how much time it'll take but she'll give in," Pande said.
Aya would arrive the same time Bedlam returned with the hunt. He looked her over but said nothing, being made aware of her last night.
Aya found Wolf easily. "Hello," she said, dropping the clean shirt on his lap and placing the thermos of coffee down beside him.
The two succumbra looked each other over before Aya just grinned and sat down beside Wolf. She was behaving only because she knew she got to take him back with her later.
