Re: First Day at School
"I don't think you have to do it now," Mandisa said. "Gaius is pretty soft... He'd probably let you take it home and look it over with your guardian. Trent might not be as easy...for me. But he probably would be for you. Or...I dunno. Gaius. We might have to lean on him to lean on Trent. They used to be a thing. He still has pull."
Re: First Day at School
"Oh." Nel said, she wasn't sure how to take any of that. She pulled out her schedule. "So, uh... I guess my first lesson is..."
Re: First Day at School
Mandisa looked over at the paper. "Companion Care - Dark type. Oh good, that'll be easy for you. Do you have any companions? They let us care for them in that class rather than use the class ones. Sometimes."
Re: First Day at School
"Yes, I have a few." Nel said then and had to think of which one she'd prefer to use during class. "I think that's awesome, if I can bring my babies out rather than care for theirs. Though, I don't mind. All dark creatures are drawn to me."
Re: First Day at School
"Yes, I quite enjoy my Companion Care class," Mandisa said. "Even when the ghost escape. The other students don't like that so much." But she didn't care about that either. "Looks like you have Cooking as an elective. You can change your electives if you don't like what they've given you. Cooking is usually a required class for fiend students. They must have given it to you because of your situation," she mused.
Re: First Day at School
Nel let out a little giggle then, "I'd let to see your ghosts causing mischief." She said, honestly. "Cooking is good. I'd like to learn."
Re: First Day at School
"Cooking is kind of boring," Mandisa disagreed. "Except for when Mireya tries... She's a klutz. It ends poorly and usually hilariously." She continued to look at the schedule. "Dark Arts. You'll be good at that one too. They didn't give you a breeder class...Probably because it's your first year. That's covered a little bit in Companion Care but they have specific classes for it if you're into breeding your Companions."
Re: First Day at School
"Oh, I think I would like breeding." Nel said honestly, that would be nice. Especially if her fiends wanted to try. "So where is companion care class usually held?"
Re: First Day at School
"C building," Mandisa said. "It's this way. I'll walk you there. Looks like you have a female teacher. I'm not as familiar with her. Hope she's nice. But she's a Dark teacher so..." She shrugged. Dark was what it was.
Re: First Day at School
"Well, that's a relief. I've already had enough of males to last me the day," Nel said, though she knew she couldn't avoid forever. But Gods.
Re: First Day at School
Mandisa didn't comment on that. Nel had had it easy so far. Which was good. She wouldn't become discouraged quickly. "We have the same lunch so you can come sit with us when you finish Cooking. You might have Vale in your class so he'll be able to show you where to go. He's not...very good at cooking, as a warning, so don't partner with him. Fire and Ice aren't a nice mix but the teacher, who is also a girl, doesn't like him so..."
Re: First Day at School
"Well maybe I should and help him..." Nel said, if he was gay as Mandisa said, then she didn't need to worry.
Re: First Day at School
"You can try," Mandisa said. "If you don't mind spicy or heated food since that's all he's ever assigned. I don't care for it but some of the boys do." Mireya didn't much care for spicy food either though.
Re: First Day at School
"I don't mind it." Nel said, she wasn't fussy on food. "Thank you, for being so helpful. I'm sorry I'm a bit... You know. Spazzy. I haven't been around people since I was 13."
Re: First Day at School
"It's not a problem," Mandisa said. "My sister usually does this stuff," she added. "But Dark and Ghost get along better. And besides, everyone needs friends. Even us creepy people."
Re: First Day at School
"Creepers fit well with creepers," Nel agreed and smiled. "I wish I could be as confident as you, one day."
Re: First Day at School
"You'll get there," Mandisa said. "And until then, just fake it. No one here knows who you are. They don't know what you're like or what you've gone through. Think of this as a new start. You can literally be anyone you want to be as the Dark Princess. So just act how you want people to think of you and eventually you'll make it real."
Re: First Day at School
"That's really good advice. I'll work on it." Nel said, because she couldn't be whoever in a day. But she'd try. "Oh, I guess this is my class?" She said as she stopped at the right door. "But I'll see you at lunch, yes?" She asked.
Re: First Day at School
"Yes," Mandisa said. "See you then." And she floated off to her own class. She didn't have to follow the hallways for hers. She could just go through the walls and without Nel with her, she did just that.
Re: First Day at School
Nel found the companion care class incredibly easy. She knew most of it and they let her use her own fiend. So her Persian, who she had called Chade, pronounced Shade. He loved the attention and fuss and many other of the fiends had introduced themselves to her.
Though, after that was cooking class. Using the map didn't make it too difficult to find her way, however she did get momentarily lost which caused her to be a tiny bit late. She quickly rushed into the class. "I'm so sorry. I got lost." she said quietly.

Re: First Day at School
Ms Reed looked up from where she was writing out a recipe to follow on the board. "Nel, is it?" she asked. She peered at her from behind black glasses. "Find an empty seat," she said stiffly and returned to the board. Ms. Reed was not the person to piss off or insult but thankfully a new kid being a couple of minutes late on their first day didn't appear to be that much of a concern to her.
Vale wasn't looking at the teacher or the board. He was gazing out the window he was sitting next to, thinking longingly of being anywhere else but where he was right then.

Re: First Day at School
Nel immediately bristled, she found the teacher rude, in fairness. Her tone. Rubbed her the wrong way. "Mmkay," she said and tried to find Vale in the class. She did and then sat next to him. She waved a hand in front of his face. "Hi. I'm going to help you in this class." She said in a whisper and then nodded towards the teacher, "she's a bitch. Sorry she's harsh to you."
Re: First Day at School
"Oh hello!" Vale exclaimed in a hushed fashion. He'd been startled out of his day dream but it was the pleasant sort of startled. "Aren't you just the sweetest? You don't have to help me though. Having a teacher for an enemy is so not fun." He extended his hand. "I'm Vale. You're Nel, the new princess, right?"
Re: First Day at School
Nel nodded, "nice to meet you. Vale is a fun name." she said, with a smile. "I want to help. I don't think it's fair you're stuck in this class doing badly because she makes an ice pokemon cook spicy food."
Re: First Day at School
"Well, I guess that's just what I get for not wanting to date her human daughter," Vale said, trying to find humor in the situation. "She doesn't have any sons so you'll be fine." Nel seemed pretty skittish, which he thought was kind of different for someone inclined towards the dark type like she was. "Did they put you in here or did you decide you'd like to learn how to cook?"
