Tae and Gaius Talk

Gaius did not have much courage left in him after his experience with yveltal. At least not when it came to lovers. But Taeyang meant more to him than just his protector. So he gathered up what courage he had and went to face him. As a man. Really he wanted to be small, lighter on his feet to run if things got out of hand. But he told himself no. He has to do this the right way else it would all fall apart and then...

He didn't want to think about that. He tried his hardest to push that into a dark corner of his mind. Still his hands shook slightly as he pushed the halfway open door in. He took a moment to breathe.

"Tae?" He asked. "Can we uh...can we talk?"

"It's a little late for that, but yes." Taeyang said, his tone even. He didn't sound angry, but he was. More upset than anything. But he was trying to not scare Gaius.

Gaius looked down at the ground. Taeyang was angry. He didn't sound it which was part of way gaius was able to step into the room. But the fire fox knew that the dragon was angry with him. He'd still yes. That was a start.

"I'm sorry," Gaius said. "I didn't mean to upset you."

"I'm hurt that it came out so late, when I can't have feelings on it or have it change anything." Taeyang admitted, he wanted to be honest. "He is my brother. My *brother* Gaius."

"I know," Gaius said. "You can still have feelings on it. I won't tell you otherwise. And if you want things to change then just say. I've made you so upset that I can't blame you if you want me to just...to go away," he finished quietly.

"I don't." Taeyang said, because he didn't. He was already falling for Gaius, if not fallen already and he didn't want them to part ways. "I want you to quit your job."

Gaius looked up then, startled by the request. "Oh. Okay. I will then. Whatever you want. I can find another." Lucian would not be happy, he thought, but if that's what Taeyang required then gaius would do it the dragon meant so much to him. "I'll tell him before my next shift then."

"I need to talk to him, so I'll do it." Taeyang said, he felt that as it had been kept a secret from him, he couldn't trust either of them. Not any more.

"Is there anything else that I can do? I didn't keep it from you on purpose. I didn't mean to hurt you. I just...well I didn't think there was much of a reason to mention it before we got together and after I just...well I thought you'd rather not know." Gaius had said that yveltal had not been his first. He'd thought it would have been rude to go into his secure history and Tae hadn't asked.

Tae didn't answer, he was so mad. So mad. Both of them had kept it from him. His family. His lover. Had kept massive secrets and he wasn't going to forgive it right away. "I can't think of anything right now." He said honestly. But he didn't comment on the rest.

Gaius's shoulders drooped. He looked back down again. He could sense the anger coming from Taeyang. "Okay," he said. He struggled to find something else that he could say to quell some of Taeyang's anger. But there was nothing, was there? So he took Taeyang's silence as a dismal and left the room.

Wow. That annoyed Taeyang quite a lot. The lack of effort. He'd not yelled. He hadn't raised his fist or his voice and Gaius had ran out of there when he hadn't been silent. He had answered him and then he hadn't been given a chance to say anything else.

"Ugh." He growled softly and vanished to his brothers office. "We need to talk."

Lucian was actually at his desk writing something down in a little black book. He closed it. "You look troubled," he said to his brother. Their visits were still scattered and infrequent but they happened more than they had before. "Do go on."

"Firstly, I need to apologise for pursuing your ex to the point of being in a relationship with him. I also want to call you a proper cunt for not saying a damn word when you realised I was." Taeyang said, perfectly calm. But he was raging.

Lucian actually looked confused. "My ex? What ex? Do you mean gaius? We were never together." He did not click onto what Taeyang meant. Not right away. "Or are you referring to the few times we slept together?"

"Ex fuck buddy, sorry that I needed to clarify that, for my apparently simple minded brother." Taeyang snapped, he didn't want to be corrected or belittled right now. At all.

Lucian put his hands up in a sign of surrender. "My apologies. It has been a long day and I did not initially catch on." He studied Taeyang for a moment, considering his words. "I should have told you. I can tell that by how upset you are. But I'll be honest, I'd quite forgotten about it. It wasn't anything of note for me. And I never did predict that you would pursue him."

"That's a god damn cop out, it was enough that you offered him to give up his job and continue fucking you, but you quite forgot." Taeyang said, feeling very annoyed by that comment. It was like when people cheated and said stuff like 'it's okay because they didn't mean anything to me.' No. Just no. "You are meant to be my family. My family and you kept secrets from me about your personal assistant and my now boyfriend. Who, by the way, quits. So you fucking lost out by being a shady prick."

"Are you really so worried that I would do something with him after you have claimed him that you won't allow him around me?" Lucian asked with a slightly raised eyebrow. "I can assure you that I would never so much as consider it. But I can find another assistant." He was not so bothered about that. He sort of had to anyway as he required his assistant to be around him quite often. "Hm, but I am sorry that you are so angry about it. I had no reason to tell you beforehand. You can't hold that against me. But you are quite right. I should have said something to you after. I suppose I owe you again."

"You have proven to me that I can't trust you, so no I don't trust you with him." Taeyang said, he was being completely honest about it. "Had I known, I wouldn't have pursued him, not as your ex. Though feelings have already happened and he's stuck with me regardless. Thanks to our other brother. Which is unfair on us both. That's why I'm so angry. You should have told me, as you said. And you owe me twice. Hugely. Massively. So much you can probably never pay me back."

"Would you not have?" Lucian asked. "I understand that you wouldn't want someone that family has had, however briefly, but our other brother had him far more and longer than I and that doesn't bother you?" Oh well. "Fine. I may not be able to repay you. But at least now you have powerful favors from me as you wish."

"He doesn't count. I won't judge him for being raped by Yveltal." Taeyang reasoned and that's how he'd always looked at it. "I've nothing to ask of you, you know that. I don't need anything that I haven't already got."

"Not at the moment. But you never know what will happen. You may have need of me yet. Or perhaps someone else will," Lucian reasoned. "We'll have to see." Only time would tell. "Am I to correctly assume that our comraderie has come to an end?" It hadn't lasted very long. Sad that. Nothing he could do now. He'd apologized and agreed to massive favors in the future.
