Succubus Mission

Alex stretched and excused himself from his friends and boyfriend stating he needed a walk. This was nothing unusual and certainly not something they would question. Alex spent most of his time in The Manticore but he did seem to need to escape every once in a while to get fresh air, either by walking into the little town or the forest paths around the bar.

Even a nerdy fiend needed to get out or they'd go stir crazy.

Now Alex had a penchant for stumbling across trouble. He never meant to but it just sort of happened. He was lucky in that he was almost never hurt by such encounters so he never seemed to worry about them too much.

Today, he decided, he would keep to the forest and away from people. That would cut down on the trouble he could get into. Sure, fiends could attack, but even bound they seemed to know that he just wasn't the one to bother with. Not because he gave off any dangerous aura, mind, but just because he just was one of those you didn't really go for. They left him alone and he did the same with them.

Forty-five minutes into his walk and everything was good. He thought that he was going to get away with an actual peaceful time. He didn't feel like stretching his luck so he headed back. And that's when he heard it. The sound of a woman screaming. It startled the birds from the trees and made him near jump out of his skin.

He stood there, unsure of what to do. A part of him wanted to run and get away. But he'd been hanging out with hunters for so long that he felt like he had to at least investigate and see who she was and what was hurting her. He silently walked to where he had heard the scream and peered around the tree to look.

On the floor near him was the fallen form of a female woman. Blood poured from her neck where it had been slit and pooled around her head and body. It spread out around her. The wound was clearly fresh.

Alex hid behind the tree. He hadn't looked at anything else but he knew already he needed help, no matter what it was that was going on. That woman had been murdered. He sent a text to Wolf. "Help. Found a murder." Was all he wrote with his coordinates attached to it.

That done, he looked again around the tree. There was another female caught in a net. Wait, not a human one. He couldn't tell at first but the more he looked the more obvious it was. She had horns on her head, wings like a bat's, and a demonic looking tail. She was incredibly beautiful and wore very little, though her long, lavender hair covered her chest perfectly like magic. A succumbre.

"Master!" the fiend cried, tears falling down her cheeks.

"Oh shut your wailing," a harsh male voice said. "She could have saved herself if she'd just handed you over."

Alex looked at the man now. He was much, much older than either woman. He had to have been in his fifties at least. Everything about him screamed sleaze. A poacher, Alex realized. Frustration and anger welled up with that realization. He hated them terribly.

There was movement to the poacher's right. A waruvile (krokorok) stood there, looking down at the body of the fallen human. Blood stained his claws.

Wolf looked at his phone. Then at Strife and Jes. "Guess what?" He said almost amused.

"Alex found trouble?" Jes said, standing up and getting his bag. He was already prepared.

"As usual," Wolf said. He looked at Strife as he stood. "He found a murder. You in?"

"Yeah, can't leave the kid out there with who knows what this time," Strife said and stood as well. None of them were surprised that Alex had found a murder or any sort of trouble for that matter. "At least this time he thought to notify us rather than just try and deal with it on his own." Which the kid did half the time. It was infuriating.

Alex texted again. "Poacher." He then looked around to see if he could find...Ah. There it was. It was so close to him. The capture sphere of the succumbre. He snatched it up and then hid behind the tree again.

The sphere had been carefully and lovingly decorated for the fiend that it contained. Alex felt sad looking at it. The Tamer must have really loved her companion. That was so sad...

As for the fiend herself, she was struggling wildly to shred the net. She was doing it too. The krok started heading for her.

"It's a poacher too," Wolf said, rolling his shoulders. He was going to pound his face in. Seriously so. "Let's go."

Jes was quick to follow Wolf. "Any fiends?" He asked, it would be helpful to know what was best to use against any potential threats.

Wolf shrugged and text Alex asking.

"He's using a krok," Alex said, giving the nickname for the fiend. It was a pretty nasty one too. Large as all hell with lots of teeth. It was making him nervous. But he could climb up the trees to escape it if needed. "I can't tell if he has any more. Target is a Succumbre."

She broke free of the net in time to swipe at the krok and send it away from her. But upon trying to stand, her leg gave out and she fell back down to the ground.

"Not gonna get far with that injured leg," the Poacher said with a sneer. "How about you make this easy on yourself, huh?" he asked, taking out a gun filled with tranquilizer darts.

"It's a krok," Wolf informed them and gave them a list of what it was weak too. They were out of the club and making them way through the forest.

Jes nodded and searched through his bag for a specific sphere. He found it and then offered it to Strife to see if he needed any of the weapons.

Strife rummaged through the bag and looked for something that had ice magic to it. Swords and daggers wouldn't be much good against a krok. But he did find a gun with ice enchanted bullets. "Perfect," he said and took that. He had not been trained as a Tamer and so did not use fiends or companions. He wasn't so Gifted. But he was good with weapons. Especially projectiles.

"Good choice," Jes said, he always carried stuff for Strife. The man just wasn't cool enough for fiends.

"I'm going for the poacher. You guys get the krok," Wolf said, there was no wiggle room in his voice. That was just how it was going to be. "Keep it off me."

"All righty, boss man." Jes said with a snort. "We better hurry," he said and strapped his bag onto his back so he could move faster.

Strife kept the weapon ready and picked up the pace. "At least Alex found trouble in the middle of nowhere." They wouldn't have to worry about any innocent bystanders out here. Not that Alex had done that on purpose to make it easy on them. There was no disagreement on his part when it came to Wolf. He was fine taking the guy's direction.

"For once." Wolf agreed with a laugh, but then he hushed as he moved through the grass and trees. He could hear the cries of a woman ahead and he saw Alex behind a tree not far in front of him.

He looked behind him at the other two he motioned for them to go around and stay quiet.

Jes nodded and released Chief from his ball. He was quiet as a mouse as they moved forward with Strife behind him.

Wolf wasn't going stealth now though. He stood up and marched into the area the poacher was. He had no weapons on him and he looked incredibly calm.

"So, how about you let her go and you get to leave with your life?" Wolf said as he approached. "One time offer, or I'm going to come over there, kick your ass and then let her kill you."

"Who the fuck are you?" the Poacher asked, annoyed. He was already frustrated that he'd not been able to get her into a capture sphere so far. He couldn't find her original one although he could have sworn it was close by. She'd resisted all of his so far. They lay scattered around her. The gun pointed on her stayed directed at her as he spoke to the stranger.

Alex stayed hidden behind the tree. He was going to grab the girl if he could but he'd have to wait until the Poacher wasn't focused on her, just on Wolf. Damn but his boyfriend was scary though. At least he was only scary towards the baddies.

The Krok immediately started for Wolf the moment it saw him. The succumbre directed another blast of dark energy at it but the thing reflected it back. It wasn't able to do the same for the ice bullet that hit it right on the side of the head. The krok fell over on it's side from the force of the bullet. But it immediately righted itself and turned on the two men and fiend that were headed for it.

"Your worse nightmare," Wolf growled as he used dark pulse. A move that allowed him to show his dark aura. It surrounded him as he moved closer to the poacher, nothing but dark thoughts and intentions leaked from the dark shadowy aura around him, it could make the poacher flinch. Even if it didn't, the feint attack would make the fucker see stars. He moved his left hand towards the poacher, as if he was about to hit him with it but as the poacher would try and block that, he sucker punched him with the right. It couldn't miss. It never did.

Jes loved watching Wolf do his dark thing. It was so much fun, because it messed with people. He sent Chief forward, using ice attacks (thst I don't know and can't look at right this second so please just bare with me xD pretend I used a legit one) at the krok, a flurry of attacks in hopes of keeping its attention away from Wolf.

The moment the poacher went down, Alex ran out from behind the tree and went to the girl's side. He pulled her away from the fighting. He took her over to the tree but she wiggled out of his arms to go to her fallen master. He had a hard time watching her cry and just held onto her capture sphere.

The poacher went down, the gun firing from and involuntary response. It had missed the girl, the dart lodging in a tree.

The krok, meanwhile, thrashed wildly against their attacks. It bit hard onto chief but only managed to break some teeth in the process. It's roar of pain and anger shook the area and trees around them.

That was the only opening Wolf needed. He went down with the poacher and pounded against his face with just his fists. He did not kill him. But he did quite literally beat him from an inch of his life.

Jes looked distraught when the krok bit his chief. His hand went into his bag behind him and he pulled out a compound bow and an arrow that was enchanted to be of ice damage. He knocked the arrow and pulled the string of the bow taught. He could feel the sheer amount of power trembling through the shaft of the arrow, just waiting to be released. He aimed for the kroks eye and let it loose.

The arrow struck true. The krok went down. It's massive body caused the ground to tremble one last time as the ice wounds it had sustain froze it over. Dead or not, it no longer posed any threat.

And neither did its master, who could not withstand the force of an elemental master.

Alex breathed a sigh of relief that it was over. He knew they could do it. He was quite pleased.

"Dude, did the bullets freeze you too?" Jes laughed as he shoved Strife. "Just one hit? If he'd hurt my chief, I'd never forgive you." He said and fussed on his fiend.

Wolf stood up and grabbed the poacher by the hair. He dragged him over to the succumbra. "The honour is all yours, milady." He said politely.

"Something like that," Strife said and held up a large rock snake. "Someone has to have your six."

The succumbra looked down at the poacher. She wiped the tears from her cheeks and felt fury take over. But she was perfectly calm as she grabbed his face, her nails digging into his soft flesh and drawing blood. She pulled his face up to hers and kissed him. And as she did, she drained his life force. The energy closed the wounds he had inflected on her. But after the beating Wolf had given him, there wasn't enough left to heal her completely. She let his limp body drop to the ground.

Alex felt a little sick. But he didn't blame her for what she did to the poacher. It was deserved.

"Very few people get to have my six, you should feel honoured." Jes said, as he put chief away after inspecting him and then stood up and got ready to go over to Alex and Wolf.

Wolf had no judgement. Of course he didn't. He had been pretty awful himself. "If you require more energy, Jes will give you it."

"I will!" Jes agreed eagerly. Fuck yes he would.

"Why?" Strife asked, confused until he actually looked at the fiend they had just saved and saw not only what kind she was but how very little clothing she was wearing. If lingerie even counted. "Oh." Yeah, no wonder Jes was all about that.

Alex held up her capture sphere. "She was raised from an egg. She won't survive in the wild," he said. She'd never been in it and she wouldn't know how.

The succumbra just looked at them. "I don't know. Maybe," she said as if uncertain of how well she was feeling. She couldn't feel the pain yet. But she would when the shock and adrenaline wore off. "Thank you."

"Because I don't just bottom for anyone." Jes said, only a little disappointed she'd turned down his energy. Ah, well. There was time.

"We will take her back to the club, feed her and figure out what to do with her." Wolf said, he wasn't going to let anything happen to her. "Jes would take good care of her, as much as he's a pervert..."

"I would," Jes agreed, his own fiends were a testament to that fact. "Don't put her back in the sphere though, she shouldn't be alone right now. I'll carry her if she's too tired to walk?"

Alex looked up at Jes. Wolf was right. He was a pervert. He was interested in the succumbra because she was sexy and he just wanted to have lots of sex with her. But she was a succumbra and they sort of needed that. Plus, Jes really did take excellent care of his companions. So he offered Jes her capture sphere.

"Her leg was injured. I don't think that she could walk before," Alex said about carrying. It met be better now that she'd fed on the Poacher's energy though.

Strife didn't really disagree with bringing her back and taking care of her. She'd been through a trauma and if she didn't know how to survive on her own then they couldn't really leave her. "We're going to make quite the spectacle bringing her back..." He'd be amused but for the poor murdered Tamer. "What do we do with her?" He didn't care about the body of the Poacher nor the two fiends. But the woman shouldn't just be left there like that.

Jes took the sphere and placed it in his bag. He went over to the succumbra. "What's your name lovely?"

"We will give her a warriors burial, if her fiend is okay with it. She has earned it though." Wolf said, as he lifted her poor lifeless body from the floor to carry her. "We will discuss when we are back and she is fed and watered."

"Cataya," the succumbra replied as she looked up at the man who was now her Master. He seemed much nicer and far more attractive than the Poacher.

"Sounds good," Strife said. He pulled Alex up and waited for Jes to carry the fiend. They'd head back as a group in case the poacher had had friends or a partner nearby.

"I'm jester, but my friends call me Jes." He replied with a soft smile and held his hands out to Cataya. "Shall I carry you home?"

Wolf was impatient. But he understood that being patient, kind and gentle with the fiend right now was their best option. Jes was doing well.

"Please, Master," Cataya said and took his hand. She did not know where home was now. She wasn't really worried either though despite what she'd just been through. These men had saved her. They'd let her have her revenge on the one that had slaughtered her previous Master. They were patient with her and being thoughtful, not just putting her back in the capture sphere though it would be easier. So she felt at ease.

Strife was actually really proud of how well Jes was doing. For as much as he was a horn dog, he could be a good guy. He was being respectful of what she'd just gone through. He knew his friend could be that way, but it was nice to actually see him act like that.
